I wanted to tell you about a great thing happening over at Cammie's blog. She is doing a wonderful give away in honor of her grandmother who died a few years ago of complications resulting from Alzheimer's disease. Cammie wants to build awareness of the disease and what goes into the caring of people with it. One of the requirements of the contest is to make and send a card to a caregiver. I work in a nursing home/ rehab center and have first hand experience of how difficult yet rewarding it can be to care for the elderly, no matter what their diagnosis may be.
I used the leaf print from the Signs of Autumn Stamptv kit. I wanted to do an embossed resist technique with the stamping underneath it, but I didn't have a small print or background stamp, so I made my own background using one of the mum stamps from the Lean on Me set. I stamped the mum in pumpkin all over the cardstock, then stamped the leaf in versamark and clear embossed. Then I sponged over everything with caramel, then navy inks. I wasn't sure how to fit on a sentiment, so I just put it on the inside of the card. This sentiment is very appropriate! Caregivers do make the world a better place! So hop on over to Cammie's blog to get all the details, make a card, and send it out to a caregiver deserving of a great THANK YOU!
Thanks for visiting!
