A Summer Card

Hi there! I think I am done making Christmas cards, and felt like going in a completely different direction with this weeks sketch from The Sweet Stop.  My card uses the digi of Rhubarb and his innertube, which I just received as a prize in the SNSS VSN a couple of weeks ago.

It is snowing here in upstate NY tonight, but I would really prefer Rhubarb's swimming weather.

Lighted Snowman

Hi there! I have another card from the Sweet N sassy Vsn this past weekend, this challenge was to use a snowman on the card.  I downloaded this cute snowman digi from SSNS:

Isn't he just adorable?  And the sentiment comes with it just as shown, which made the layout easy to come up with .

More VSN

Hello!  I have a couple more cards for the VSN that went on this past weekend over at the Sweet N Sassy Connection.

This is my gift card holder, which is a modified version of a pocket card.

And this card is for the challenge to use a Christmas song for inspiration.  Can you guess what song I used?  Yep, it certainly was Rudolph!
I hope I will have some more for tomorrow.  Have a great night!

Aloha

Good morning!

I made a card for a girl celebrating her 13th birthday and having a Luau theme.  So I thought the GKD set Aloha would be appropriate.  Theresa Momber has a lot of great tutorials for sunset and island scenes to make with this set, and I used a few of them for this card.

Loss

This post has nothing to do with crafting, just some personal thoughts to share.  I am from a very small town with a small school, ( my son's senior class has less than 40 kids in it).  So when tragedy strikes, it affects so many.  Last night, our community lost a 19 year old young man to a tragic accident.  For such a small town and school, we seem to lose a young person either still in high school, or in their 20's almost every year for various reasons, accidents, illness, and even suicide.  The causes of the deaths don't make the results any harder or easier to bear.  I feel so much for our children and young adults of this community who have been forced to deal with grief so many times now.  So, if you have taken the time to read this, please pray for our families and our school and  town and hug your kids even tighter today.  And remember to tell them you love them everyday, because you never know what tomorrow will bring.
Thanks for listening.

Facebook Challenge

Hello!

My card today is for the StampTv facebook challenge to use 3 different patterned papers.  Check out the fan page for StampTv for details.

I used fun Echo Park papers for the background panel and to paper piece the puppy, house and balloons.  Stamps are GKD Warm and Fuzzy and Tag Lines.  I finished it off with some twill ribbon that I colored with an orange marker (love how it matches the dp of the doggie house) and a couple of stacked buttons.

Christmas Blocks

Hello!

Gina K Designs had a new release party earlier this week, and one of the challenges was this color block sketch challenge from Donna.

I used the sets Branching Out and Holiday Greetings for my image, embossed with CB houndstooth folder, and used Dp scraps in colors to match my cardstocks, which are from GKD and SU.
I really like how it turned out, and may make a few more in preparation for the holiday season.
Go check out the challenge, you could win a free stamp set!
